She walks in dressed in trademark Jolie black – black skirt, black camisole, even black ear studs, but has a shimmery green-grey jacket
thrown on her shoulders to soften her look.
With her face scrubbed clean, save for some mascara, she's a far cry from the Elise Ward she plays in her next, "The Tourist" – a perpetually
coiffed, blood red-lipped mystery woman.
Jolie plays a criminal's paramour in the film, which has been shot in picturesque Venice. Ask her what would be the perfect trip for her with
her family, and she says, "Ahh... any place we haven't been. We love safari adventures and living in tents. We love Asia.
But we haven't explored China, and South America. So any place new, where we can have something beautiful, but also physical. With so
many kids it's nice to have adventure."
And what about India? She hasn't been here since she shot for "A Mighty Heart", and her last excursion to the subcontinent was a visit to
flood-hit Pakistan in September. "I'm sure I'll be back again. We're so trying to figure out where to go for Christmas! And Mad ( Maddox, her
adopted son) loves Goa," she smiles.
So where do the two meet - the global star with six children, who jetsets around the world shooting for films and visiting crisis-struck areas for
her work with the UNHCR; and the celebrated sex symbol?
"The funny thing is, people keep asking me about these different sides of it, and I think I'm just a woman," says Angelina, "I think most
women have a side to them that is extremely nurturing, and also are very conscious of global issues, and when they're confronted with them,
they wanna do something."
"So it's actually not very unusual. I think I'm very much what most women are. I live in extremes and I've had the opportunity to live my life
in these extremes. But, it's really the same thing."
But she does say being a mom is foremost for her. "I'm a mom, first and foremost, and that's what keeps me grounded. It keeps me very
happy and I know every morning that that is the most important job I'm doing, and their health and their happiness is all that matters to me
and all that I have. But am I capable of being completely irreverent and a little wild? Yeah, absolutely."
Being somebody who's associated with global issues and has worked with diplomats, what's her opinion on Wikileaks? "This is one of those
questions where there's no safe answer! I'm like everybody, I really don't completely understand all of it yet," she says matter of factly.
But, what if there is a leak on some conversation that she might have had with some diplomat in there? "I don't have anything to hide,
actually, I'd probably be proud if something came out of my private conversations because I tend to be in privae fighting for something that I
believe in."
