Actor Karthi is busy wrapping up things in the final schedule of shooting of his upcoming film Saguni which is being directed by debutant director Shankar Dayal. Karthi is having a jolly good time out there in Kollywood. He had the highly successful Siruthai releasing early last year which saw him playing dual roles for the first time in his career. Santhanam’s comedy and Tamannaah’s glamour meant that the film turned out to be a success story.
Karthi got married in the second half of last year and has been starring in Saguni ever since. Pranitha, who debuted in Tamil films as heroine opposite Arulnidhi in last year’s Udhayan, would be Karthi’s heroine in the film. Even before completing this film, Karthi has agreed to a film for Suraj, who has made Dhanush-starrers like Padikkadhavan and Maappillai.
The film which brings together Suraj and Karthi remains untitled as yet. The shooting has, however, begun in right earnest as Karthi and the rest of the crew are said to be shooting in some picturesque locales on Tamil Nadu’s border with Kerala. For the first time, Karthi gets to pair up opposite the lanky Anushka; the latter would surely have no problems with the height factor with Karthi.
Besides Anushka, the film would also star three sizzlers in Meghna Naidu, Sanusha (remember her in Renigunta) and Nikitha Thukral. All the three heroines, besides Anushka, would have plum roles in the film and won’t be appearing as mere glamour pieces, informs Suraj.
When queried as to whether he faced any difficulty in managing four heroines in a single film, Suraj says “We do have four heroines among whom Anushka would be the main heroine in the film.
In fact, I tried to cast Lakshmi Rai for a crucial role in the film which she couldn’t take up as she is having a tight call-sheet schedule. We then opted for Nikitha who plays a village belle in the film,” concludes Suraj.
